The local pop stars are coming to Newcastle Metro Radio arena this May as their band, Little Mix, bring the Salute Tour to the North East.
Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, both born and raised in South Shields, are coming back to their hometown Tyne & Wear with band members Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock to perform at Newcastle on Saturday 17 May, 2014.
Their band Little Mix started on the television show X-Factor in 2011 and was the first group ever in history to win.
Now they have released two debut albums, eight singles and one charity single.
The band stated on the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena’s site: “We’re so excited to be preparing for our first arena tour! It’s incredible to think we’ll be playing for so many people every night. We are going to be pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s as unforgettable for our Mixers as it will be for us.”
And their Mixers are already excited, one fan from Cumbria, @Donna1DLMDV, posted on Twitter: “@LittleMix #SaluteTour in #Newcastle you excited?? I’m gonna be there.”
A Newcastle fan girl, @gosh_jesyx, also tweeted: “I’m from Newcastle and I’m going to the salute tour yay!”
The Salute tour is based on their second studio album that followed their successful debut album DNA that charted number two in the UK and within the top five in four other countries including the US.
So far Salute has made number four in the UK albums chart, number seven in the Irish Albums chart and number one on the US iTunes chart.
After being in the music industry only three years, they have now sold over 5 million singles and 2.5 million albums worldwide as of 2013.
The girls are only in their 20s and their last tour was sold out.
Now they are hoping the new tour, Salute, will be as successful.
